DescriptionWhite, square, silk and colored thread souvenir handkerchief. The scene on the souvenir contains a small yellow hut in the bottom right of the scene. To the left of the hut is a tree and a brown fence. In the foreground is a winding path with patches of green grass. The path is made of pink thread and green thread for the grass. The background of the scene has mountains made of blue thread. The top of the scene has one cloud of pink and yellow thread and an inscription in pink thread.Dimensionsopened: Width 8.250, Length 7.375

Historical NotesThis handkerchief was most likely aquired by Robert Fisher in the Philippines, and then given to his girlfriend and later wife Elizabeth Kenyon. Part of a collection that documents the Fisher, Keltz, and Kenyon families. The majority of the collection is related to the WWII service of brothers Walt and Robert Fisher. Robert Fisher served in the Pacific theater, particularly in the Philippines. Robert Fisher met his future wife, Elizabeth Kenyon at a camp, she was a Red Cross volunteer. They were married after the war.
