Historical NotesEarliest known example of yellow pottery from Pittsburgh. Round House Pitt Township Label TextIt is glass that brought William Price to the region, but he is remembered by his ceramic pitcher. When he returned to his native England in search of glassblowers, he also met and convinced two pottery makers, Vodrey and Frost, to come to Pittsburgh. They thanked him by giving him this pitcher with scenes from Price’s Life, including a glass furnace from the Fort Pitt Glass Works. Attributed to Jabez Vodrey and William Frost, Pittsburgh.
