DescriptionSquare-shape chamber stand. Wooden tongue-and-groove construction with raised panels. Overhanging paneled lid hinges up on slotted metal supports; below this is a hinged seat with center hole. Below the whole, there is a white glazed-earthenware chamber pot with applied lugs and wire bail and turned wood handle. Historical NotesThis object is associated with the Schlag Family, Swiss Immigrants who settled in Allegheny City, and in 1864 bought a farm in the Sangree Road area of Ross Township; the property remained in the family for 121 years. The object was collected from the homestead.
