Part of a collection from the Git Lee family collected to document the life and work of this Pittsburgh Chinese family. The Lees operated a general merchandise store on Third Avenue from c. 1930-1965.Label TextAn early model of the electric iron, this iron was used in the Soo Sing Laundry in Wilkinsburg. The invention and availability of the electric iron was welcomed by the Chinese laundrymen for it was a timesaver and made working more bearable in the summer. The iron, under the jacket, is a later model.
