DescriptionStreet lamp patent model (a) with three associated paper tags (b-d).
(a) Street lamp patent model. Cast metal cap frame. Tear-drop shaped openings throughout frame. Circular top with hole in center. Attached via red cotton ribbon is a brass rod ("standard") which should be (was originally?) connected to frame at a hinge. Rod has an opened cylindrical cup on bottom, turned upright, and an open circular frame for holding candle. Attached via another red cotton ribbon are tags (Parts b-d) with black ink handwriting with minimal typed words.
(b-c) Front tag that has broken into two pieces horizontally across center.
(b) Top section of front tag. Tag contains patent information including patent number, patent maker, and patent name.
(c) Bottom section of front tag. Tag contains patent information including patent date.
(d) Rear tag. Only left part of tag remains, right half is not intact. Tag contains patent information including patent year, patent maker, and patent name.
