Historical NotesEdward Urbanek received this 35 year service wristwatch on August 25, 1971. He started working for J & L Steel in 1936, his nephew thinks he was in the service and was discharged before entering the mill. Eddy worked in the "spike mill" where spikes for the railroad were made. When this mill was closed, he was moved to another area of the mill. He was raised in Oakland, but lived most of his life in Greenfield. Edward Urbanek died in December of 2011.
