The Pirates used their first pick in the 2005 Amateur Draft to secure the dynamic five-tool talent of centerfielder Andrew McCutchen, who had just finished his senior year in high school with a .709 batting average. Fans packed PNC Park during the 2011 season when McCutchen led the team to a first place standing in mid-July, and secured his first all-star selection.
