Text on the ribbon reads: "18th ANNUAL CONVENTION / FRATERNAL ORDER / OF POLICE / AUG. 27-29, 1934"

Medal has "UNIONTOWN" across the top.

Inscribed in a circle on the medal is an image of four buildings around which reads: "SEAL OF UNIONTOWN, PENNA."

Below the circle reads: "THE / BITUMINOUS / CENTER OF / PENNSYLVANIA"
MarksOn back of medal is circular text: "BASTIAN BROS. CO / ROCHESTER. N.Y." In the center is a sign with "M.P.B" over the letters "P.I.U"
Historical NotesOn May 14, 1915, two Pittsburgh patrol officers named Martin Toole and Delbert Nagle, held the first meeting of the Fraternal Order of Police. The purpose of the organization was to better the working conditions of law enforcement officers. The annual conventions allow officers to participate in setting the goals and agenda for the organization. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
