Historical NotesThis Amateur Athletic Union jersey belonged to Herbert Douglas, Jr. who was a member of the 1948 United States Olympic Track and Field Team. Douglas won the bronze medal in the long jump at these games, the first native Pittsburgher to win an Olympic medal. Douglas attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of the track and field team and a walk-on football player for the school.
