Hood, Jr., worn when he was in the National Guard during the Korean War; Donated by his wife, Madylon Hood and his daughter, Susan Predis. Hood served as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force during WWII and was active in the National Guard, 146th Fighter Squadron, during the Korean War. The squadron was stationed at the Pittsburgh Airport. In 1956 he received his school principal certificate, taking the position of Head Teacher at Kirwin Heights and eventually principal at White Oak. He eventually worked in textbook sales with publisher Harper & Brace.
