DescriptionRectangular homemade wooden bench consisting of a plain top seat board and two flat log support boards at each end having scalloped edges and a U-shaped foot cut-out, and secured to the top with nails.Dimensions17.25 x 11.25 x 35.25 in. (43.8 x 28.6 x 89.5 cm)Historical NotesUsed, and probably made by donor Anne Malecki's father, Stefan Cimprich, who worked for 51 years as a bottler of acids at Penn Salt Manufacturing Company. Malecki's mother was born in Slovakia in 1896. Cimprich was born in Slovakia in 1891, and died in 1975. The bench has an unknown date of construction, but generally dates back to the early 1920s. Bench was for all-purpose use, including to stack dishes before and after washing.
