Historical NotesTranslation: "He is risen". The cloth is used to cover an Easter basket when it is taken to be blessed at church.Label TextEaster remains the most honored holiday among Serbians. In addition to church services, music and dining traditions, an Easter cloth such as the one seen here was hung on walls. This white cloth with red embroidery depicting the Resurrection also illustrates the typical Easter greeting among Serbs: “Christos Voskres,” which means “Christ is among us.” “Voistina Voskres,” meaning “He is and shall be,” is the reply.
