Historical NotesThis Air Raid Warden sign is from World War II. Fred Schueler, a Westinghouse retiree, was the Warden for Zone 14, Sector 1, Post 7 on the North Side. He was given the position of Sector Warden because he was retired and able to stay at home. It hung on his home at 2227 Howard Street Extension in the North Side; the street is no longer there because of Interstate 279. Donors Shirley Vogel Skander and Ruth Vogel Redenbaugh are Fred Schueler's grandchildren.
