The top has red text "WM Penn,"; below that is the inscription "MILDEST CIGAR EVER MADE."; in the bottom right is the inscription "60 CIGARS PERFECTO."
On the front, on the right and bottom is the inscription "WM Penn."
Attached to the box on the right in red elongated oval is "PERFECTO."
On the left and right sides there is an elongated red oval with text "WM Penn/ 60 CIGARS PERFECTO," in a smaller yellow circle is the inscription "5¢".
On the back of the box in the bottom right corner written in red "60 CIGARS PERFECTO."
On the bottom of the box on the left there is a red box that has the inscription "C / THE ORDINARY RETAIL PRICE OF THE CIGARS HEREIN / CONTAINED IS INTENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER / TO BE MORE THAN 4 CENTS EACH AND NOT MORE / THAN 6 CENTS EACH / PERMIT C 10---PENNA. / 60."
Inside the flap:
In the upper left corner is black "5¢".
To the right of that starting in the middle is a white box with the word "MILDEST" written in red, and to the right of that written in black is "CIGAR EVER MADE."
Below that is the inscription "WI Penn" inside a red oval with a grey border.
At the bottom of the flap is the patent numbers written in red. In the bottom center it reads "RE. U.S. PAT. OFF. AND CANADA," to the right of that sits a red plant with three leaves inside a red circle. The leaves are labeled "'em 'em 'em" at the bottom of the circle is the inscription "HOMOGENIZED-TOBACCO-LEAF."
In the bottom right corner written in black "U.S. PATENT NOS. 2592553. 2592554 AND 2706695 OTHER U. S.. AND FOREIGN PATENTS APPLIED FOR."
Sitting right on the folded hinge is another inscription reading "PERFECTO Wm Penn PERFECTO", directly inside the box it reads the same thing however it is written much larger than when located on the hinge.
Inside of the box on the bottom, in the top left corner is an imprinted serial number that reads "I I I I PATENT NO. 2,797,854."
Historical NotesPart of a collection that documents the Fisher, Keltz, and Kenyon families. The majority of the collection is related to the WWII service of brothers Walt and Robert Fisher. Robert Fisher served in the Pacific theater, particularly in the Philippines. Walter Fisher was in the Airborne, Medical Corps.
