DescriptionSilver metal sword. The hilt of the sword is made of a wood base with a plastic coating over top, part of this covering has been taken off or has fallen off. The top of the hilt has a rounded metal button. The hilt has indentations for which one can hold the sword. The basket of the sword has the decoration on the proper right side of the sword. There is a cross guard on the top that flips open. There is leather connecting the sword to the basket. At the top of the blade nearest the basket on the front there is an inscription with dates and name; on the flip side the nearest the basket is another inscription with name and date. The blade of the sword has embossed flowers, plants, bugles, and cannons that run through both the groove and face of the sword. In the upper third of the sword is a German inscription written in the metal with a black background, written in old English script. Below that there is another embossed scene with flowers and plants and an eagle and flag; it runs over the groove and face of the sword. The rest of the sword to the tip is embossed with flowers and plants a bugle and eagle. In the middle of the sword there is another German inscription written on what appears to be sections or unfolded scroll with a black background. Black metal scabbard. There is a small button on the top edge of the scabbard. There is a metal ring on the bottom edge and a square hoop on the top of the sword assumably to hold the sword and scabbard to a persons belt. The rest of the scabbard has a slight curve near its bottom and there is a protruding edge on the tip of the scabbard.Dimensionsa: Height 4.313, Length 36.125, Depth 4.250

Inscriptions(a)
At the top of the blade nearest the basket on the front there is an inscription reading "1907 / H. Rindt / 1910", on the flip side the nearest the basket is another inscription "H. Heinz / 1901".

In the upper third of the sword is an inscription written in the metal with a black background "5. Chev. Reg. Erzherzog Albrecht / von Oelferreich" this was written in old English script.

In the middle of the sword there is another inscription "Bur / Frionering / an meine / Diralzeit written on what appears to be sections or unfolded scroll with a black background.

(b)
There is a string with a piece of paper attached with an inscription on one side "Japanese WWII / Sword German / Walt Fisher / Brought Home." It is written in black and red ink; "Japanese" in black ink has been crossed out and replaced with "German" in red ink.

On the back bottom of the scabbard there is an engraved number "32".
Historical NotesPart of a collection that documents the Fisher, Keltz, and Kenyon families. The majority of the collection is related to the WWII service of brothers Walt and Robert Fisher. Walter Fisher was in the Airborne, Medical Corps and was in Germany.
