Starting in the upper left corner moving towards the lower right corner, the colors start with light blue, then incorporate green and purple and red along the right side. Then in the center of the piece, add yellow and red. In the lower right corner, there is not as much green but rather more magenta.Dimensions8.75 x 5.75 in. Artist and teacher Samuel Rosenberg (1896-1972) had a prolific career in Pittsburgh, leading him to be called the “Dean of Pittsburgh painters.” He is perhaps best-known for his scenes of the Hill District in the 1920s and 1930s. Rosenberg was a beloved presence in the Pittsburgh art world and influenced numerous artists through his teaching careers at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement, Young Men & Women’s Hebrew Association, and Carnegie Tech.
