Historical NotesThe man pictured is Mr. Frank Schmidt, uncle of donor's father, who was Foreman of the Night Cleanup Crew for the H.J. Heinz Company. These ID badges were instituted in 1942 as a wartime protective measure for increased plant security. The color of the badge designated the area(s) of the plant to which the worker had access. Mr. Schmidt died July 12, 1948.
