Historical NotesCampaign poster, c. 1975, for Senator John Heinz III, for whom the Heinz History Center is named. Senator Heinz was the great-grandson of Henry Heinz, founder of the Heinz Company and son of Jack Heinz, the last family member to run the company. The Senator chose a life in politics rather than the family business. Donor Sue Hill's mother, Dorothy M. Kasper (1925-2015), helped with his campaign to become a Senator. This poster dates from when he was a Congressman and running for a Senate seat in the late 1970s.
