DescriptionSled base is beige in color, made of kevlar. Two blue cylinders fastened with metal straps protrude from front of sled (possibly for attaching a handle). Red plastic tarp fastens to top of sled with metal brackets; tarp closes with metal zipper. Vinyl labels on proper right side of sled have medical product information. Historical NotesSled used by Will Cross of Pittsburgh during NovoLog Ultimate Walk to Cure Diabetes, November 2002 to January 2003. It was a trek of 680 miles across Antarctica on foot to the South Pole. The sled was used to carry supplies and is made of durable yet lightweight material called kevlar.
