Historical NotesThis desk was made for James Boyar by J. Huey in 1808. It was passed down through the Boyer family until 1929 when it was sold to an antiques dealer. The donor purchased the desk from the antiques dealer in 1931. James Boyer bequest to son Samuel Boyer;on his death 1878 to his eldest son James B. Boyer;on his death in 1899 to younger brother Peter B. Boyer; his death 1912 to his son Samuel L. Boyer of Library, PA; sold 1929 to L.D. Dunning, antiques dealer of Verona,PA; purchased 1931 by Henry King Siebeneck; to HSWP.
