MarksBlack stamp containing maker information near opening: "BAG, FOOD, WATERPROOF, JUNGLE / STOCK NUMBER 74-B-54-75 / GOODYEAR RUBBER SUNDRIES, INC." and “DEC. 14, 1943 / PHILA. Q. M. DEPOT”.
Historical NotesWWII-era rubber water proof bag. Both donor Ruth Vogel Redenbaugh’s father John G. Vogel and grandfather Fred Schueler were air raid wardens in the North Side during World War II. The donor’s grandfather Fred Schueler, a Westinghouse retiree, was the sector warden for Zone 14, Sector 1, Post 7 in the North Side. He was given the position of sector warden because he was retired and able to stay at home.
