Great care / should be observed to remove all fluid from the instrument after it is used. / NOTICE- When the valve boxes are unscrewed to cleanse the Syringe, or otherwise, be particularly careful not to lose the / valves, which may then drop out. / MANUFACTURED BY / THE GOODYEAR RUBBER CO., / NEW YORK."
Historical NotesPart of a collection of medical supplies of Dr. James Glenn Dickson who operated in the Canonsburg area from the 1840s to the 1870s. Donor Melinda Hays Evans’ family found the apothecary chest with accompanying medical supplies in a barn on their property in the Canonsburg area. The collection documents the practice of a mid-19th century small town doctor.
