DescriptionCircular gold fraternal button with small pin on back which screws into circular gold backer. When connected, button and backer are attached to square piece of white cardboard. Button has painted black background, gold engraved eagle, two flags: white, light blue, and red (Russian?) and American, situated above cross with text and a chalice. Historical NotesThe United Lutheran Society was formed in 1962 when the Slovak Evangelical Slovak Church Union of the Augsburg Confession in America, founded in 1893, and the Evangelical Slovak Women's Union, organized in 1906, merged. This fraternal benefit society is now open to all persons of the Lutheran faith and provides life and health insurance. It is headquartered in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
