BiographyThe fan was made by Shedd-Brown Manufacturing Company. Shedd-Brown was first started in 1904 in Red Wing, Minnesota by H. E. Shedd. H. E. Shedd is known as the inventor of the pocket-type envelopes. He moved the company to Austin, Minnesota and then to Minneapolis where it stayed for a long time. The company was primarily known for its manufacture of calendars and tended to engage in the manufacturing of handbags, vests, leather billfolds in addition to other advertising specialties such as the fan retailed by the Quinn R. Banks Funeral Home.
