DescriptionNearly square commemorative assemblage wall plaque. Wooden plaque has coated linen front with navy blue border and inset square with royal blue background and white border. Plaque has painted white beveled front edge and sides. Center features black-and-white photograph of baseball player in uniform with name at bottom in gray and blue ink signature just below center; eleven (11) baseball card images surround central photograph in U-shape; five (5) Philadelphia Athletics pennants (red, blue, yellow, and white) along the top of the central area and two more below the central photograph. Reverse is stained/varnished brown wood with white string stapled to top center for hanging purposes.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 18 x 18.938 x 0.875 in. (45.7 x 48.1 x 2.2 cm)
InscriptionsFront central photograph has gray printed text at bottom center "PETE SUDER" and printed blue ink signature just below center "Pete Suder".

Front has seven pennants with white text "ATHLETICS".

Some baseball cards have printed black or white text "Peter Suder", "Pete Suder", or "SUDER" and some have facsimile signatures in black "Peter Suder".
MarksReverse has gold oval sticker at top center with printed black text "CUSTOM MADE PLAQUES / ERNIE MONTELLA / ... / Warrington, PA 18976 / ..."

Reverse has white handwritten text in the top left corner "Mentello [sic] / 4-2" and above center "White / Linen".

Reverse has black handwritten text on bottom half "This TRiBute To PeTe SudeR WAS made / Especially FoR PeTe SudeR By / Ernie Montella / April 10, 1997".
Historical NotesPete "Pecky" Suder was a professional baseball player from Aliquippa, Pa. He was a utility infielder for the Philadelphia/Kansas City Athletics from 1941-1943 and 1946-1955. Suder's career began in 1935, but was interrupted by World War II. During the war he served in the European Theater. After returning home, he went to play for the Athletics.
