DescriptionHandmade child's baptismal gown. Three-quarter sleeve. Square textured white fabric. Pleated along waist. Seven horizontal folds in fabric near bottom of skirt. Embroidered eyelet fabric along bottom edge of skirt; embroidered with flowers and eyelets form diamond shape. Open down back with five buttonholes along proper left side of opening and only bottom white plastic button intact along proper right opening; remaining four buttons are missing with only threads remaining marking their original locations.Dimensions24.5 in. (62.2 cm)Historical NotesThis small cream child's gown was Russell Lytle's baptismal gown, he died at 12 years old. Part of a collection of handmade clothing from the Dell family. The family lived in Duquesne, PA.
