Historical NotesThe suit belonged to William Nusser of Allegheny City and was made by a local tailor, John Ommert, circa 1894. It was added to the History Center's collection to expand the museum's collection of men's clothing and to document a local tailor/business. The Nussers were a wealthy family that lived on Hodgson Street in Ingram, Pennsylvania. The donor, Richard Hanley, was the Nussers' "Saturday morning" boy, who did chores and ran errands for them. In 1939 William Nusser's daughter, Marie, gave the suit to the donor so he could wear it for a Halloween costume.
