Historical NotesThe official "Slash Towel," in the tradition of the famous Terrible Towel, was created after Pittsburgh Steelers radio announcer Myron Cope gave Steelers player Kordell Stewart the nickname "Slash" because of his abilities and willingness to play multiple positions, including running back, wide receiver, punter, and quarterback. Part of a collection of Pittsburgh sports memorabilia owned by donor Andrea Pasquarelli's late mother Joanne Pasquarelli.
