Historical NotesTerrible Towel, originally created by Pittsburgh Steelers commentator Myron Cope, commemorating the 75th season of the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise, which began in 1933 and was celebrated during the 2007 season. The fifth-oldest franchise in the NFL, the Steelers were founded on July 8, 1933, by Arthur Joseph Rooney, were originally named the Pittsburgh Pirates. Over the years, they have won five Super Bowls.
