Stamped on barrel reads: "COLT OFFICIAL / POLICE .38"
To left of trigger guard is stamped a "P" inside an inverted triangle. To right of trigger guard is the number "3".
On inside of chamber is stamped: "T / 550614 / H / 550614"
Circular metal accent on top of grips reads "COLT".
Historical NotesIn 1927, Colt Manufacturing Company began producing their Official Police Revolver specifically targeted for use by law enforcement agencies. It became one of the best selling police firearms of all time and by the 1950s, it exemplified typical peace officer weaponry. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
