Manufacturer's mark stamped under hammer is an image of a horse standing on hind legs holding a spear.

Green tag was attached that read: "NP0440 / 6-29-05" on front and "4" REVOLVER" on back.
Historical NotesThe Police Positive Special was intended primarily for sale to law enforcement agencies and enjoys the distinction of being Colt's most widely produced revolver design with over 750,000 built. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
