DescriptionBrown, leather-lined, metal trunk on two wheels. Branded border design consisting of two pairs of double lines with a flower in each corner. Two locking mechanisms on the front: left locking mechanism has sunburst design around central rivet, two flowers in center and a keyhole with a small peg in it at the top; right locking mechanism has a snowflake design around central rivet. Inside trunk is a light brown lining with dark brown geometric design of rectangles, triangles, and vertical stripes. Strips of metal covered with red dyed leather form a "spine" under the lid and continue down through the center of the trunk. Four leather straps are inside at the bottom of the trunk along with a few extraneous pieces of leather.Dimensions22.75 x 19.25 x 16 x 37 in. (57.8 x 48.9 x 40.6 x 94 cm)
InscriptionsInscription right side in center below loops drawn in blue is an "X"; hand painted(?) below in black is "MRS GEO. WESTINGHOUSE JR".

Left side handpainted(?) below handle in black is "(?). GEO. WESTINGHOUSE, JR. / Pittsburgh, PA" with the "PA" underlined.

Stamped in black facing the back of the trunk is "B(1?)03".

Written toward the back of the lid in black and underlined is "2(3?)14".

Right side: between the center and right strips of metal on the bottom is a faded sideways sticker reading "NEW YORK TRANSFER COMPANY R/-(?)ODDS EXPRESS-" followed by two columns of addresses and the year "1898."
MarksAround right locking mechanism: "CORBIN CABINET LOCK CO. / NEW BRITAIN, CONN."
