Historical NotesWorld War II Efficiency Medal awarded to Morris B. Gaddie for Good Conduct. Morris Gaddie served in the United States Army from September, 1944 to July, 1946. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but spent most of his life in Pittsburgh. After graduating from Kentucky State College in 1939, he worked for Westinghouse Electric Company as a materials handler. In 1941, he married Ella, with whom he had two children. Following World War II, he worked as a U.S. Post Office clerk for fourteen years and then for over twenty years as a science teacher at the Latimer Middle School on the North Side.
