Historical NotesThe gold watch was bought in 1875, at R. J. Lynn and Company in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, for Maryetta Jane McKelvy by her parents. The donor, McKelvy's great-great niece, said that Etta's parents wanted her to not marry and take care of them and so they bought her this watch. She never did marry. The parents were farmers in Indiana Township. The watch was made by Swiss watch maker Albert Montandon. Etta was born in 1854 and died in 1935.
