DescriptionWood aircraft propeller. Single blade. Metal covers on two of the blade edges. Blade ends are painted a dull gold/brown. Large hole at center of hub surrounded by six smaller holes, all for mounting to aircraft. Two Piper Cub stickers on one side. Inscribed maker's mark and identification numbers on one side of the hub and the underside of the center hub.Dimensions6 x 69.5 x 3.5 in. (15.2 x 176.5 x 8.9 cm)
MarksTwo Piper Cub stickers on one side; each sticker features a brown bear cub holding a red sign with a propeller behind; sign has white text "PIPER / CUB / PROPELLER BY SENSEMICH".

Inscribed maker's mark on one side of the hub "G3706" and "2".
Inscribed maker's mark on underside of the hub "MODEL 70L-45 / SER NO G3706 / SENSEMICH".
Historical NotesPropeller from a Piper Cub aircraft. The simple, lightweight Piper Cub worked overtime during World War II, training pilots with the Civilian Pilot Training Program, or CPT. Every would-be military pilot started by learning the basics in the CPT. Tuskegee Airmen then graduated to more difficult planes, such as the Boeing-Stearman PT-17, the Fairchild PT-19, or the North American T-6 Texan.
