DescriptionWhite enclosed wood cab milk delivery wagon with eight windows in the forward half, two sliding doors, one on each side, and a red frame and undercarriage. The sides are marked in red and blue lettering next to an image of a cow's head in a blue circle. The rear wheels are red with white hubs and are larger than the front wheels which are also red with white hubs. Both axles are supported by leaf springs with 6 leafs. The wood panels on the sides, back and front feature gold detail lines around the edges. Inside is a wooden bench with a white seat. Behind the bench is a shelf near the roof. Historical NotesThe wagon was made by the W.C. Laderer's Carriage Factory in Evans City, PA. Research confirms the company was operating from at least 1904-1920. It was started by W.C. Laderer. By 1919 his two sons were helping run the company. The wagon in the 1960s-1970s by the Hyllmede Dairy which was located in Beaver, PA. Records show the company as being incorporated in 1956. The wagon was restored sometime in the 1960s. The owner of the dairy, Edgar Snyder Funk, donated the wagon to Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) in 1977. The wagon was transferred to the Senator John Heinz HIstory Center in 2014.
