Historical NotesThe DePaul School for Hearing and Speech was founded in 1908 by the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Sisters of Charity Seton Hill with goal of providing listening and spoken language education for children. The school has previously been known as the Pittsburgh School for the Deaf and DePaul Institute and has had locations in the Lappe Mansion on the North Side of Pittsburgh and Mt. Lebanon. In 2002, the school was moved to the site of the former Sacred Heart High School in Shadyside. This t-shirt is one of many produced by the school for fundraising purposes. The school has an extremely active parent and alumni support system and produces regular newsletters and other communications.
