Historical NotesThis t-shirt is part of a collection of objects from Luther J. Sewell, Jr, who began his career as a magazine publisher and political consultant in 1962 with the publication of "Tavern Talk," now known as "Talk Magazine." The magazine focuses on African American culture, news, trends, social issues, health and wellness, and political engagement. Sewell also started a marketing and consultation company, The LJS Group, which consulted on over 25 national, state, and local political campaigns and planned events for corporations and public institutions that wanted to reach the African American and minority markets.
