DescriptionBrown glass root beer bottle, twelve (12) fluid ounces. Cylindrical body with sloping shoulder. Bottle neck is wide at bottom and tapers to narrower circular opening with threaded outer rim. Bottom of bottle tapers inward to foot with ribbed perimeter. Two seams. White paper label adhered to front of body and wraps partially around left and right sides; label has blue and red printed text providing product and maker information. Bottle is empty. Historical NotesThis “CNN” Root Beer was produced for the 2000 Primary, which Catanza covered, as well as the 1996 Olympics and NASA missions. Ross Catanza was a photographer for The Pittsburgh Press for nearly three decades. His parents were immigrants from Plati in Calabria and he grew up in the Norwood area of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of World War II, which allowed him to use the G.I. bill to go to school for photography. He covered a wide variety of news stories: sports, politics, current events like strikes, riots, and protests.
