BiographyRoss Catanza was a photographer for The Pittsburgh Press for nearly three decades. His parents were immigrants from Plati in Calabria and he grew up in the Norwood area of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of World War II, which allowed him to use the G.I. bill to go to school for photography. He covered a wide variety of news stories: sports, politics, current events like strikes, riots, and protests.
