Historical NotesForbes Field opening day pin. A lapel pin issued to commemorate the opening of Forbes Field against the Chicago Cubs, it is unclear who made these, how they were distributed, or if they were purchased at the park. Reportedly 30,000 fans packed the 25,000 seat park. Unfortunately, the Pirates lost 3-2. Very few of these pins have survived. The last game at Forbes Field was played June 28, 1970.
