DescriptionLocomotor pull-toy made of formed sheet-metal with tabbed construction, in the form of a streamlined steam railroad locomotive with rounded bullet front and lithographed details in red, white, blue, and black. Low red metal smokestack near front. Hole in front for pull-cord (missing). Set on four turned wooden wheels on wire axles; as the toy is pulled forward, a cam on rear axle strikes a gong mecahnism, producing a bell-like sound.DimensionsHeight x Width x Length: 4.5 × 4.125 × 17.313 in. MarksWolverine diamond trademark lithographed on proper right side of toy has text "WOLVERINE / MADE IN / U.S.A."

Text on both left and right sides of toy "LOCOMOTOR / No 34".
Historical Notes#34 Train Locomotor. This toy appears to be late 1930s or early 1940s production, though similiar toys continued to be made into the 1950s. The smokestack used here is very similiar to that of 98.17.218 (Airplane Carrier) dated to c.1939.
