DescriptionFactory prototype for a "musical" pull-toy. Rectangular, sheet metal red base imprinted with yellow sillouettes of circus animals, with a figure of a clown and a turntable with three horses riding on top. Wooden wheels, and a green braided pull-cord with a red wooden ball at the end.Dimensions7.5 x 4.252 x 10.5 in. (19.1 x 10.8 x 26.7 cm)Historical NotesLabelled as a prototype with a noted date of 1926, this unit is constructed from finished and decorated manufactured components, and has the appearance and workability of a production toy; Wolverine Toy operated on Pittsburgh’s North Side from c.1900- c.1970, making a variety of children’s toys that were sold on the national market. The company later moved its operations to Booneville, Arkansas and changed its name to Today’s Kids and later Today’s Plastics before being absorbed by Spang & Company.
