Coach George Yokitis was known for helping his players develop into mature and responsible high school students. Vincentian High School opened in 1932 as an all girl’s Catholic high school. The original class consisted of all Sisters until 1939 and was taught exclusively by Sisters until the 1960s. It remained an all-girls school until 1971. In 1994 the school became Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University until 2010 when they stopped their partnership with Duquesne and became Vincentian Academy until their closing in 2020. The last graduating class was completed virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
