DescriptionBrown wooden and black plastic ammeter. Rectangular base that slopes up to a wooden lid. Lid is attached by two metal hinges on the back and a metal clasp. Inside is a black rectangular plastic. Six silver metal knobs at the top with Gold text above. A circular colorless glass underneath. Under the glass is a black meter with black text. Black metal needle. Paper description label on the inside of the lid with text. White text on the front of the ammeter next to the clasp. Black text on the paper inside the lid states "WESTINGHOUSE PORTABLE AMMETER / TYPE PM-FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT / Style No. 169512 E / Serial No. 671193 / Amperes 5-10 / 25-60 Cycles / This instrument is calibrated for use in a horizontal position. It should be handled / carefully and not subjected to rough usage. The movement is of the induction type / comprising a light metal drum pivoted in the air-gap of an electromagnet; its motion / is composed by the control spring. / On 25 or 60 cycles the calibration is correct. For intermediate frequencies, the / curve should be used to determine the correction necessary . / [chart] / Repairing can be done most satisfactorily at our Works. Interchangeable repair / parts can be furnished, however, and purchasers equipped for doing repair work will / find that the construction of the meter facilitates this. After withdrawing the four / screws at the corners of the bottom of the meter and the connection straps on the face / of the meter, the sides and face of the case can be removed.
