Historical NotesAllegheny County Police raid jacket that was worn by detectives when not in uniform. Part of a collection that documents the Allegheny County Police. Formed in 1932, the County Police provide policing for the International and Allegheny airports, county property such as North Park and South Park, as well as assisting local police forces when needed. They have a mounted unit, detective division, as well as homicide and narcotics units.
