DescriptionWooden spring bouncy horse. Medium brown varnished or stained wood. Horse has handles through temples and legs are outstretched forward and backward. Gently curved U-shaped seat. Brass screws along each side body. Body is hollow and has two crossbars mounted on underside that connect to four uprights via four steel springs; springs are connected with metal eyebolts. Uprights are mounted on two parallel base runners; the runners are connected with two crossbars.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 27.25 x 18.25 x 40 in. (69.2 x 46.4 x 101.6 cm)
Historical NotesRocking horse made for donor Susan Frampton by her father Walter B. Frampton. Frampton made the horse using leftover wood scraps from his landlord’s wood shop near the property rented in Franklin, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Pittsburgh in 1956.
