Historical NotesSandwich board from Anthon's Restaurant & Bakery at 6007 Penn Avenue in East Liberty. Anthon’s opened in 1886 and was a combination restaurant, deli, bakery, and catering service and East Liberty fixture before their closure in 2015. The last owner gave the sandwich board to Mel Packer and he had loaned it to Chris Ivey to use in some of his films about the neighborhood. They both decided it would be best at the History Center.
