Historical NotesOlde Frothingslosh Pale Stale Ale bottle. The beer that started as a joke on Rege Cordic’s WWSW and KDKA morning radio show as the “pale stale ale with the foam on the bottom” became a reality in 1955 when Pittsburgh Brewing Company began to produce it as a Christmas beer special. Known more for the can then the actual beer, it has since become a collector’s item. In 1968, the can began to advertise Miss Olde Frothingsloth as a local go-go dancer named Fatima Yechburg, purportedly from a small Pittsburgh town and partial to arm wrestling, arc welding, soap carving, sky diving, and ballet. The actual model was Marsha Phillips of Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The beer has since been reissued several times.
