DescriptionMetal ice cream scoop with wooden handle. Scoop consists of hemispherical bowl with u-shaped brass(?) scraper that is operated by a lever mechanism between the bowl and the handle. Tapered cylindrical wooden handle is unfinished light brown wood with two pairs of inscribed bands.DimensionsLength x Width x Depth: 8.125 × 2.875 × 1.75 in. (20.6 × 7.3 × 4.4 cm)
MarksScraper has engraved "16" at center.

Underside of triangular metal piece at top of handle has stamped text "JAPAN".
Historical NotesIce cream scoop from John Dunay's Drug Store. Dunay's Drug Store was located at the corner of Greenfield Avenue and Saline Street in the Lower Greenfield Section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The owner of the store was Andrew Zeedick, Jr.'s godfather. Andrew P. Zeedick grew up in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He taught biology and chemistry at Mt. Lebanon High School, in the 1960s.
